del.icio.us
Ok, I am now officially addicted to this site. del.icio.us is basically a community online bookmarks repository. If you sign up (free!) you get a web address like http://del.icio.us/username and you can immediately start adding links as you find them on the web.
You add links by either visiting your URL and entering them manually (yah right) or by using one of the following methods:
1. You can add a link to your browser toolbar/bookmarks that you can click and automatically takes you to a page where you can just click “save”.
2. You install a browser integration so you can just right click on a link and do the same thing.
- For IE: Dan Grigsby’s cool Windows Installer package
- For Firefox: del.icio.us
Another cool Firefox extension is Foxylicious. It will pull in your del.icio.us (yes it gets easier to type the more you do it) bookmarks into your Firefox bookmarks, and you can use a delimiter like “.” so if you tag your bookmark with “web.utilities” you will get a “web” folder with “utilities” inside of it. Neat!
I’ve added my del.icio.us page to the links section so check it out.
Of course, since you can see what everyone is posting, and it updates very very frequently, I’m now addicted to refreshing the page and finding new/cool things to read
